Kenny Chesney says he wanted his next album to have "a cover that was surprising," and "suggest anything is possible." The country star unveiled the artwork for The Big Revival on the Billboard and Hollywood Reporter websites Monday.
It's Kenny's first CD that doesn't include him in the picture. Instead, it features the wildly painted school bus from his "American Kids" video, along with instruments and other items seen in the clip.
Chesney says he liked the idea of putting the vehicle on the cover, because it reflects his concept behind the album. He explains that a school bus is a very common, familiar object, but this particular bus is "so far beyond coloring outside the lines." Kenny adds that the music on the disc follows suit, and is "not what you expect" but is "what can be."
Chesney's The Big Revival will be in stores on September 23rd.
